San Francisco Rehabilitation Therapist Provides Unique Therapy To Finally End Neck and Back Pain In Under Two Weeks

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2007

Irene Diamond, R.T., director of Diamond Massage & Wellness Center has developed a therapy program for people who have tried everything to get rid of their muscular pain with no relief. The technique, Active Myofascial Therapy- The Diamond Methodâ?¢ was created in 1987 and is perfect for people who work on computers, have been injured in car accidents or on the job, or who have migraines or chronic headaches.

The non-surgical approach uses a combination of manual myofascial therapy (similar to deep massage) neuromuscular therapy (which re-programs your muscle memory to improve how your body moves) and easy therapeutic exercise to strengthen weak areas and stretch tight tissue. “The gentle therapy is unlike the mainstream therapies you have tried before and you will really enjoy how you feel during and after your sessions. Most clients report a significant decrease in pain after just the first therapy session.” Diamond says. Active Myofascial Therapy- The Diamond Methodâ?¢ is performed fully clothed. You don’t need a doctor’s referral, although Diamond often works closely with other healthcare providers. Active Myofascial Therapy, alone or in conjunction with physical therapy, chiropractic or other modalities, will allow you to experience quick and permanent results. “People who have received this therapy call it the most effective technique you can experience for soft-tissue dysfunction.”

Active Myofascial Therapy- The Diamond Methodâ?¢ (AMT) helps to reduce if not eliminate pain and muscle tension, increase joint range of motion, increase flexibility, prevent repetitive stress injuries, reduce fatigue and speed recovery of healing from injury or surgery. Sessions are held with Irene Diamond and last between 45 – 60 minutes. Most people only need the first four sessions, which are scheduled within a one-week period to receive the benefits.

One of her recent clients, Jason Glick said, “My yoga teacher recommended Diamond Wellness for therapeutic massage for chronic pain. Not only did I find Irene Diamond to be an extraordinarily talented therapist, but her program of neuromuscular reeducation and home exercises helped correct years of poor posture after just a few sessions. Irene helped get at the root of my injury more effectively than the several physical therapists and doctors I had seen previously.”

Irene Diamond, R.T., developed AMT as a result of a spinal cord injury at age 15. Completely paralyzed, she went on to regain full movement using the founding concepts of AMT. After completing her bachelors degree in Movement /Rehabilitation Therapy, she used herself and clients as the first guinea pigs to develop the technique. Since 1987 she has been providing individual therapy, teaching the technique to therapists around the nation and working on a series of educational DVDs that clients can use at home.

For therapists who want to learn how to provide AMT, Diamond will be teaching an introductory five-hour workshop in Oakland, California on April 21, 2007 for the American Massage Therapy Association, East Bay Unit.

In addition to AMT, Diamond Massage & Wellness Center on Lombard Street in San Francisco also offers a variety of therapeutic massage, pre and post-pregnancy programs and ergonomic education sessions.
